A HOME AWAY FROM HOME is an initiative of the COA Netherlands in cooperation with the Government Architect of the Netherlands.
In the afternoon of Wednesday, the 29th of June the six winning designs in the competition ‘A Home away from Home’ were announced during a closing event in ‘Het Nieuwe Instituut’ in Rotterdam. The winning teams are currently given the opportunity to transform their design concepts into a full scale prototype. Check out the progress they’re making on the ‘making of blog’! The finished prototypes can be visited during the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven, from the 22nd until the 28th of October 2016.

After months in an AZC, this is heaven

In the past two weeks Finch’s prototype remained in the AZC in Budel. Several refugees spent the night inside it, to help us put the design to the test. The final guest in Budel was the NRC (national newspaper ed.). Building the prototype
